Samarkand Gifts Limited was established and incorporated in England in 1973 by Roy and Lena Chalu, originaly based in Elm Hill and later at St. Giles Street, Norwich. With Lena's brother Ken Li, taking care of sourcing high quality Chinese Arts and Crafts in Hong Kong and China we import and sell direct to the public.

Since Ken, his wife Yo and sister Connie Chan joined the company in England, we re-located in 1994 to Gt. Yarmouth and have been trading there as The Chinese Shop ever since. As a family business, we work very closely together and provide our customers with the best possible service and attention.

With frequent visits to China looking for new ideas and products to add on our range, we hope to give all our customers the best quality, choice and price for Chinese Arts, Crafts, Fancy goods and Garments also provide the best personal service in East Anglia.
